Hi Mom and Dad! (In baby’s Voice)
Guess what? I’m a little scientist, and every day I’m building my super skills! You might not see it right away, but I’m busy learning about my body, my world, and even how to talk like you. Cool, right?
Dr. Montessori says there are some really important things I work on as a baby and toddler: language, motor skills, and sensory awareness. They’re like the building blocks for my future. So, let me tell you a bit about how I grow, step by step.
Language: My First Words Are Just the Beginning
Before I could even say “Mama” or “Dada,” I was listening to everything you said. Your words are like music to me. Every sound you make helps me learn new words, even if I don’t understand them yet.
When I try to say “Aah” or “Ba,” that’s me practicing. Soon, those babbles will turn into words like “ball” or “dog.” Isn’t that exciting? The more you talk to me, the better I’ll get!

Here’s how you can help my language grow:
Talk, talk, talk: Describe what you’re doing. If you’re cooking, tell me about the carrots and the pots!
Read to me: Books are magical, and your voice makes them even better.
Sing songs: Rhymes and melodies make learning even more fun.
Motor Skills: Watch Me Move!
Rolling over, crawling, and eventually walking—it’s all part of how I grow strong and confident. Every time I reach for a toy or wiggle my toes, I’m practicing my motor skills.
There are two kinds of motor skills I work on:
Big movements like sitting, crawling, and running.
Small movements like grabbing a spoon or stacking blocks.
You can help me by letting me explore. Let me crawl on the floor or reach for my favorite toy—it’s how I get better at controlling my body!

Sensory Awareness: Learning with My Senses
Did you know my senses are my first teachers? I learn so much by feeling soft blankets, tasting mashed bananas, or hearing the sound of rain. Textures, sounds, colors—they all make my brain grow stronger.

Here’s how you can make my senses happy:
Let me touch safe objects with different textures.
Play peek-a-boo with colors or shiny things.
Introduce me to gentle music or nature sounds.
Everyday Moments Are My Lessons
Even small things like holding my hand, feeding me, or showing me a butterfly teach me more than you know. You’re helping me build the skills I’ll use forever.

Thanks for letting me explore and grow. With you by my side, I’ll be ready to take on the world—one little step at a time!
