Hi Mom and Dad! (In Baby’s voice)

Every time I hear your voice, it’s like music to my ears. Did you know that even your simplest words and sounds are teaching me about the world? Dr. Montessori believed that language is one of the most exciting things I’ll ever learn, and it all starts with sound.

Let me tell you about my journey with language and how you can help me grow!

Why Sounds Matter

  • Sounds are my first connection to language. They help me understand rhythm, tone, and the magic of communication.
  • When I babble “Aah” or “Ba,” I’m not just being cute—I’m practicing for future conversations!
  • Listening to your voice calms me, makes me feel safe, and sparks curiosity about the world.

How Sounds Help Me Learn

  • I’m building the foundation of my vocabulary with every word you say.
  • Repeating sounds helps me experiment with my voice and figure out how it works.
  • Conversations (even one-sided ones) teach me the rhythm and structure of language.

How You Can Help Me Grow Through Sounds

  • Talk Often: Narrate your day to me. Tell me what you’re doing, even if it’s just folding laundry. I love hearing your voice!
  • Sing and Play: Songs like “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” are not just fun—they teach me rhythm and melody. Add silly sound effects to make me giggle!
  • Read Aloud: Books filled with colorful pictures and repetitive phrases are the best. Your voice makes the words come alive.

Why This Matters

When you talk, sing, and read to me, you’re helping my brain grow in amazing ways. Language is my tool for connecting with you and the world around me. Together, we’re creating a foundation for learning that will last a lifetime.

Thank you for being my first teacher! Let’s keep chatting, singing, and laughing as I discover the joy of language.

Love,
Your Little Listener 💙
