Hi Mom and Dad!

As I step into my teenage years, my world changes—dramatically! Dr. Montessori called this a period of great transformation, similar to my earliest years. From physical changes to emotional growth, this phase shapes me into the adult I’m becoming.

What Happens During These Years

  • My body and mind undergo rapid changes—just like when I was a baby!
  • I start questioning the world around me and forming my own opinions.
  • My emotions are heightened as I explore my identity.

The Two Sub-Phases

  1. From 12 to 15 Years:
    • This is a time of emotional exploration and self-discovery.
    • I might seem rebellious, but I’m really just trying to understand myself.
  2. From 15 to 18 Years:
    • I focus more on practical skills and my future.
    • My sense of independence grows stronger.

How You Can Help Me Navigate This Phase

  • Be Patient: Understand that my emotions are intense, but I still need your guidance.
  • Encourage Independence: Let me make decisions, but support me when I falter.
  • Be a Role Model: I’m watching how you handle challenges, and I’ll learn from you.

These years might be challenging, but they’re also full of potential. Thank you for walking beside me as I grow into who I’m meant to be.

Love,
Your Growing Teen 💙
