Hi Mom and Dad!
I may not know how to talk or walk yet, but did you know I have an “inner teacher” guiding me? Dr. Montessori believed that every child is born with a natural drive to learn and grow. This inner guide helps me figure out my world and build my unique self. Montessori activities can help me follow my inner guide and learn in ways that are perfect for me!
How My Inner Teacher Works
- Exploration: My inner teacher pushes me to explore, play, and interact with the world.
- Skill Development: It helps me develop language, coordination, and problem-solving—all at my own pace.
- Natural Instincts: These things can’t be taught—they come from a natural instinct within me!
Montessori activities are specially designed to support my inner guide. They give me the freedom to explore and learn while meeting my developmental needs.

Why Montessori Activities Matter
- They help me follow my instincts and learn in the way that’s best for me.
- Every activity is just the right mix of fun and challenge, helping me grow stronger and smarter.
- They make learning hands-on, which is exactly how my inner teacher works best.
How You Can Support My Inner Teacher with Montessori Activities
1. Observe Me Closely
Montessori Activities:
- Treasure Basket Exploration (0–2 years): Fill a basket with safe objects of different textures, shapes, and weights (like a wooden spoon, soft cloth, or metal cup). Watch how I use my senses to explore!

- Simple Puzzles (1–3 years): Give me a puzzle with large, easy-to-grasp pieces. You’ll see how I naturally work to fit them together.

2. Give Me Freedom
Montessori Activities:
- Practical Life Activities (2–6 years): Let me pour water from a small pitcher into a cup, spoon beans from one bowl to another, or sweep with a small broom. These tasks help me develop independence and coordination.

- Open-Ended Play (0–6 years): Provide me with simple toys like stacking rings or building blocks. Let me explore how to use them without instructions.
3. Trust My Process
Montessori Activities:
- Language Cards (2–6 years): Show me cards with pictures of familiar objects and say their names. Trust me to absorb these words at my own pace, even if I don’t repeat them right away.
- Object Permanence Box (6–12 months): Let me drop a ball into a box and watch it reappear in the tray below. This helps me understand cause and effect—and trust the process of discovery.

Why This Matters
- Montessori activities align with my natural curiosity, helping me build skills without pressure.
- They allow me to learn through trial and error, which is how my inner teacher works best.
- Supporting my instincts now will help me grow into a confident, capable adult.
Thank you for trusting my inner teacher to guide me and for giving me Montessori activities to explore. With your love, support, and these fun tasks, I can become the best version of myself.
Love,
Your Little Learner 💙
